Morocco on the 2027 roadbook: what the announcement means.

Morocco is back at the centre of the Dakar conversation. The sporting announcement matters; the useful next step for spectators is turning it into concrete questions.

What was announced

The 30 October announcement presents a 2027 Dakar between Portugal and Morocco, ending in Marrakech. The announced dates are 9–23 January, subject to FIA approval.

Our reading

For a reader following from Morocco, the story is more useful town by town than through a single desert image. This separates racing days, travel days and the information spectators actually need. It is our editorial reading, not an instruction from the organiser.

What to do with the information

Open the calendar to pick a day, then use the spectator guide to prepare access and the return journey. A route announcement cannot replace a public access plan. We favour verifiable details over approximate meeting points.
